Core Values
- Safety. Safety is our first responsibility at all times, including the safety of rowers and the security of facilities and equipment.
- Competitiveness and Inclusiveness. We are committed to providing rowing opportunities for a range of athletic abilities and achievement, in a fun environment where competing to the best of one's ability and inclusiveness are equally valued.
- Respect. We are committed to an atmosphere of mutual respect on the water, in the boathouse and in our meetings with one another. We expect our coaches, our youth, masters rowers, and our volunteers to always show respect for one another, and to resolve differences in a constructive way.
- Equipment Care. We are extremely fortunate to have acquired excellent equipment and boathouse facilities in the first few years of our rowing program. Through the respectful and conscientious care of our equipment and facilities by rowers, coaches and volunteers, we show respect for our friends and donors, and thereby strengthen our program and help provide for future equipment replacement needs.
- One Team. We are committed to reinforcing the camaraderie and team spirit generated by the sport, including the expectation that varsity and novices, boys and girls, adults and youth will participate in activities on and off the water together. Mentoring by youth and adult rowers is crucial to strong team building and having fun.
- Gratitude. We remember to acknowledge the support and contributions of our program participants, coaching staff, volunteers, and community supporters without whose energy, vision, resources, and patience we could not thrive.
