Lawrence Celebration Regatta

  • Greater Lawrence Rowing

The Lawrence Celebration Regatta, started in 2003, is a 1000 meter sprint race on the Merrimack River in Lawrence, MA.  We have events for all ages, from Middle School recreational singles to Masters boats and even mixed 2x, 4x and 8+ events.

Adult Learn to Row begins

This program is for brand new rowers who have no previous experience rowing.  Sessions consist of 4 weeks of 3 classes per week (12 classes total.) There are both morning and evening sessions to choose from.. 

FEE $225

  • Morning Learn to Row - T/Th/F from 5:30am - 7:30am
  • Evening Learn to Row - M/W/F from 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Youth Fall Season Begins (Varisty)

Youth Fall programs are for any area High School or Middle School student. The program is geared toward introducing new rowers to the sport, as well as long distance Head-style races for the Varsity.  

The 2017 Youth Spring Season starts on August 21 with Varsity Practice. Middle School and Novice join the ranks on September 5.  Fall racing focuses on 3-5 mile head style races, with the final regatta of the regular season being the Head of the Fish in Saratoga Springs on October 29th.

Adult Fall programs are designed to take advantage of the great weather and slow moving river (not to mention the fall colors!)  Competitive opportunities are focused on long distance Head-style races.  In the fall there are racing opportunities for Competitive and Advanced Rowers as well as Intermediate rowers.

Derby Sweeps and Sculls

  • Indian Wells State Park

This is a sprint race along a straight 1000 meter long course, running upstream (north) and finishing at the southern end of Indian Well Park.  All contestants launch from the Indian Well State Park off route 110 in Shelton, CT.

The 2017 Youth Spring Season starts indoors on March 27, and transitions outdoors as soon as weather permits. Spring racing focuses on 2000 meter races, with the final race of the regular season being the North East Championships on May 20 & 21.  Boats from Northampton which qualify at Regionals will have the option of rowing at Nationals in early June.

Adult Indoor Session 3 Begins

NCR is excited to offer Indoor Training through the winter! Participating in Indoor Training is the best way to ensure that our team is faster and stronger next year!
The focus of these sessions is to improve overall strength and endurance, strengthen core and improve flexibility with the goal of improving on-the-water performance.  The coaches will be using the ergometer in conjunction with stretching, circuits and weight training.

Youth Winter Training Begins

This year the coaching staff have re-worked the Spring Pre-Season and extended it to an 8 week Winter Training.  This session will run from January 30 until March 24 and will be scheduled for M/W/F from 3:30 - 5:30. Winter Training will be mandatory for all Varsity rowers not participating in a winter sport at their school - Novices are encouraged to participate as well.
