Update: Regatta Transportation for Youth Rowers
At the parent's meeting last month, Coach Todd and parents discussed the pros and cons of getting bus transportation for this season's regattas. There was a unanimous consensus for paying an additional transportation fee to provide a bus to and from all regattas for the team. Coach Todd established a $60 fee per rower for the season. Parents should contact Coach Todd with any questions. Because having a bus is something new at NCR, the following are new policies so the team can get the most out of our transportation:
- The bus will leave the NCR boathouse ON TIME, EVERY TIME. We will not wait for latecomers.
- Youth rowers will not be allowed to drive themselves to/from the regatta. These regattas are all 12-14 hour days and there are safety issues with teenagers driving home after a long day of racing.
- Youth rowers are allowed to ride to/from the regatta with a parent (theirs or someone else's—with permission). However, all rowers are required to be at the regatta for the entire time to help with set up and tear down of "HampCrew Town" and to unload/load the trailer.
- For two-day regattas: the bus will provide transportation to and from the regatta for Saturday only. Any rowers who make the Sunday finals will need to arrange transportation back to the regatta the following day. Only rowers who are scheduled to race on Sunday are required attend on Sunday.
